Posted on 04 January 2011 by admin

Meatloaf is the go-to meal for many busy people who don’t have a lot of time to fix dinner. This is one of the main things that’s appealing about meatloaf. You can buy inexpensive ground beef, turkey or pork and mix it with food items that you already have on hand.

Many of us have good memories of growing up eating mom’s meatloaf. Maybe it was pretty plain – ground beef, some onions, salt and pepper with ketchup on top. But when it was paired with mashed potatoes (and maybe peas and carrots), it became a cool meal that we looked forward to. After all, it was home cooked with love.

Meatloaf recipes have evolved since the old days, and now there are lots of different ways to make this favorite dish. Here are ten fantastic ways to fix it:

Great American Meatloaf – Made with ground beef, tomato juice, crushed red pepper, bread crumbs onions and mustard. It’s topped off with a sweet brown sugar glaze made with ketchup, mustard and brown sugar. Wave the flag and pass the meatloaf!

Meatloaf with Brown Gravy – Made with ground beef, bread crumbs, chili sauce and spices. It’s topped with a savory brown gravy made with mushrooms, onion and beef broth. This old diner favorite can be easily made at home.

Mom’s Meatloaf – Made with ground beef, ground pork sausage, green pepper, onion, saltine crackers, ketchup and spices. It’s topped with a special sauce made with tomato sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, red wine vinegar and pepper. The smell will hit your nose and make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

Cheeseburger Meatloaf – Made with ground beef, sweet onion, oats, milk, cheddar cheese, ketchup mayonnaise, mustard, sweet pickle relish and spices. A delicious alternative to the same old cheeseburgers.

Meatloaf with Mashed Potato Frosting – Made with ground beef, pork sausage, oats, garlic, tomato juice, ketchup, Tabasco sauce and spices. The topping is made with pre-made mashed potatoes, mayonnaise and Parmesan cheese. This loaf is easy and makes a dramatic presentation for any special occasion.

Easy Hawaiian Meatloaf – Made with ground beef, bread crumbs, garlic powder and Worcestershire sauce. It’s topped with a glaze made of ketchup, brown sugar and pineapple preserves. Meatloaf goes tropical!

Bloody Mary Meatloaf – Made with ground beef, ground veal, ground pork, onion, celery, bread crumbs, Bloody Mary mix or vegetable juice, vodka (optional), Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, and spices. Topped with a kicker sauce made with tomato sauce, vodka, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish sauce and Tabasco sauce. A spicy adult style meatloaf that makes a big impression.

One of the most popular foods you can make with a couple of pounds of ground beef is meatloaf. All you have to do is add a few ingredients to the meat and pop it in the oven. While it’s cooking, you can prepare a quick salad. The leftovers will make really great sandwiches for lunch.

Here’s the recipe for this quick meatloaf:

2 pounds of lean ground beef, 1 can of tomato soup, 1 yellow onion that’s been finely diced, 1 cup of rolled oats, 2 beaten eggs, 1 tablespoon of steak sauce, 1/2 cup of ketchup and 3 tablespoons of prepared mustard.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.

In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients and, using your hands, or a large spoon, mix it up really well until everything is blended.

Place the meatloaf mixture into the pan and press down. Bake the loaf for 1 hour or until it is lightly browned. Let it stand for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

This meatloaf recipe includes salsa and barbecue sauce, which gives it that special Tex-Mex tang.

Boston Market Meatloaf Recipe

Posted on 04 January 2011 by admin

I love Boston Market meatloaf. It’s so jam packed full of flavor. I make it every year for our big family get reunions and it’s always a hit. Everyone is always shocked when I tell them I made it from scratch and it wasn’t take out.:)

For this Boston Market Meatloaf Recipe you will need the following ingredients:

1 large egg 2 tbs sour cream 2 tbs ketchup 2 tbs flour 1 package of dry onion soup mix 1 pound of ground sirloin extra ketchup for coating the meatloaf 1/3 cup spicy V8 juice

Place the first 5 ingredients in a blender until it is smooth.

In medium bowl combine the mixture with the ground sirloin. Now it’s time to get down and dirty. Mix everything well with your hands and shape the mixture into a loaf.

Bake your meatloaf in a well oiled 2 pound loaf tin at 400 degrees F for 45 minutes. After first 15 minutes, coat the top of your meatloaf with ketchup and add the V-8 Juice around the meatloaf.

Please note that this Boston Market Meatloaf recipe serves 2. If you double, triple or even quadruple the recipe make sure that you multiply your time as well. However, if you are making these loaves in batches then you do not need to increase your time. For example 3 meatloaf tins will require the same amount of time to cook, but a 6 pound meatloaf tin will require 3 times as much time to cook.

Best Meatloaf Recipe

Posted on 04 January 2011 by admin

If hot meatloaf and baked potatoes conjures up memories of sunday dinner in your mummy’s kitchen, you certainly are not alone! Meatloaf is a beloved comfort food of those in every generation, and continues to be an evergreen favorite on the dinner table year after year. While all meatloaf recipes contain some of the same staple ingredients, meatloaf is a versatile dish that may be cooked and prepared in a giant range of ways . You can bet that no 2 recipes are the same, and each has its own unique flavour.

First, lets take a look at ingredients. Nearly all meatloaf recipes call for some type of ground meat, be it meat, turkey or wild game. Most will also contain some sort of bread ingredient,eg crackers, dried bread crumbs or crushed croutons. To complete things off, diverse spices are added to give each simple meatloaf recipe its own particular flavor. As an example, salsa is often added to create a southwest flavour, and barbecue sauce can be added to give your meatloaf a smoked flavour. As well as these kind of ideas, there also are many twists on meatloaf that may be used to create an entire one-dish meal,eg adding a mashed potato topping.

No matter the recipe, most meatloafs are quick and easy to prepare. Convenient small plates that don’t require prep might include bagged salads, fresh rolls from the bakery, vegetable blends that may be steamed in the microwave, or pre-cut fresh fruit mixes.

For those that prefer more traditional, home cooked sides, there are several different options that go well with meatloaf. Your best shot when it comes to selecting sides is adding ones which will compliment the flavour of your personal meatloaf recipe. Southwestern meatloafs often go well with sides that also have southwestern flavours such as mexicorn and mexican cheese blends.

Naturally, dinner should be a delightful time, so don’t feel like you have to stick with “matching” sides. And with the flexibility of meatloaf, you can easily experiment with new ingredients and flavour combinations to make a taste fully your own – one that may easily “match” fried green beans, deviled eggs, or any other side plate you might select.

Most meatloaf recipes are easily as tasty hot as they’re cold, and can be reheated for a repeat of dinner, or cut into sandwiches for a new taste. And naturally, there are lots of leftover meatloaf recipes out there, from easy chili, to shepherds pie, to tatertot casserole. So if you are prepared for a hot, home cooked meal that just might last you all week, then get out there and start attempting to find some simple meatloaf recipes today.

If you are looking for a simple meatloaf recipe, then search no further.

Easy meatloaf recipe

Posted on 04 January 2011 by admin

As well as the meat you may nearly always have some kind of binder like eggs and a starch such as bread or cracker crumbs. Some recipes also include veggies. The crumbs help to bind together with the eggs and also serve as an extender for the beef. Plants are also an extender and will assist in keeping the meatloaf clammy. To add to the flexibility you may use store purchased flavored croutons for the crumbs. Just pulse them in the blender. You can also buy flavored breadcrumbs. meatloaf recipe easy

Plant adaptations make meatloaf even more versatile. I know a lady that cleans her chiller of leftovers each week with meatloaf. Her meatloaf is rarely the same but always good. You will also see meatloaf recipes that have a topping put on before baking. A favorite is bacon strips. Tomato products are also popular.

They do not call it comfort food for nothing. Fried chicken, pot roast, sweet potatoes, any of those easy things that my gramps ( ma ) used to make, bring me right back to being care-free, relaxed kid. I believe the best was the meatloaf. Since ma died I’ve been hard-pressed to get a decent meatloaf that might take the place of her delicious creation.

Now that you are already a grown up, you would like to learn cooking as well and of course you wish to start with a heavenly meatloaf recipe. However , what bothers you is that meatloaf can be difficult to cook. In reality, as far as you can recollect, your mummy has used a few spices and aromatic ingredients to make her every meatloaf recipe captivating.

I thought I could bring some of that comfort to my folks with a good old skool meatloaf dinner. Since ma was so secretive of her recipes ( out of pure spite, it looked ), attempting to duplicate hers was out of the query, so I made up my mind to attempt to find the Cracker Barrel meatloaf recipe.

Once again, while setting out to find an official restaurant recipe, I am straight away at a crossroads when a few ‘real’ meatloaf recipes fill my screen. After the years it took to discover a replacement meatloaf, I was discouraged to think I would need to make one or two meatloafs to find the best one. But I had the time, and figured it might be easily worth it if I could bring back a little of ma to the dinner table.

I usually make pureed potatoes from fresh peeled potatoes to go with the meatloaf. Make a fresh salad with lettuce tomatoes and cucumbers then just add a dressing to the salad and dinner is all set and prepared to serve. Cut the meat loaf in thin slices and serve with mash potatoes and salad.
